Xtina is not herself tonight

So after a whole load of waiting, countdowns, little glimpses, interviews and madness FINALLY we have Xtina's video for her new song "Not Myself Tonight", from the album "bionic".

We've stated out our opinions about the comeback of Legendtina, being some of the adjectives used: "old", "yawn inducive" and "lady gaga-esque", and this video is only confirmation of everything we've said. Is not half bad, if it was a new comer we would definitely have a bit of an eye on her, but she's THE Christina Aguilera, and this pseudo ridiculousness is not accepted.

The first scene with a very stunning beauty shot of Christina gives us the feel that this video might be good, she looks cyber chic, but then glimpses of weirdness and bad atmosphere start showing and you know everything went down the drain.

S&M suits, leather, latex masks, puffy curly hear, that weird gag thing with the sparkles and chains along with other repulsive things worn on this video are just too much to handle, not on a good way.

Then the church scene...is she serious? what was she thinking, it doesn't even match with the whole video, not to mention the scene where she's burning her clothes (anybody's nightmare), what about the lesbian kiss? no Christina, just NO, and the final version of the We-will-fuck-with-our-clothes-on, HELL NO, I understand she's now a MILF, but that was just tacky, it wasn't slightly sexy.

But you be the judge:

Christina Aguilera - Not Myself Tonight

Now don't get us wrong, we like Christina and we wanted her to do well, but this it seems that either her or her look department is working too hard to make her "cool" again, and they are failing miserably.

As the positive minded people we are, we give you the good points, that sexy golden glittery outfit she's wearing on the church scene is very nice, also in the first scene (as stated before) she looks ridiculously beautiful, that neckpiece is a must have and the part in between the rain scene where she has a straight fringe and glittery red lips, is just wow.

Well anyway...Thank you for reading and we ask you, what is your opinion on this video? lady gaga much? do you like it? anything you want to add about it?

See you next blog.

McQueen is the King

The lookbook of the McQ by Alexander McQueen collection for Fall 2010 has been officialy launched. This collection has a grunge inspired and dark aesthetic vibe to it. The use of patchwork, denim, flannel, knits and stripes gives us a very melancholic picture for this season, we could almost hear Kurt Cobain singing in the back. To be honest, we coulnd't be more excited about this sort of scenes, we've been tripping on the grunge 90's vibe for quite a while now so for NONPLUS this collection is H E A V E N.

The bulky silhouettes, the shirts tied around hips, the long girly dresses with manly details, just takes our breath away. Our heart still aches for the departure of the most beloved and inspirational designer of this era, but like Freddy Mercury said "The show must go on", and I bet he's looking proudly down from designers paradise nodding to this collection♥.

But anyway, we'll stop the talking and you'll start looking at these images of perfection:

Womenswear

Menswear:

ps: These are only the highlights of the collection, according to us.

Thank kou for reading and stopping by to see this mind blowing collection, and last but not least we ask our readers, what do you think of this collection? Do you like it?
Post your answers.

AnOther takes on MiuMiu

Cover for the september/09 edition

The bi-anual, culture-rich, luxurious magazine known as "AnOther" just released a fashion film that was exclusively put in charge by this magazine to Fashion photographer Willy Vanderperr known for his work with female super models Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell.

The film features the Pret-a-porter, younger clothing line by Miuccia Prada, called "Miu Miu" on it's A/W 10 edition which to me was amazing. The use of squared toes pumps, flattering cuts, and the magnificent use of black, yellow, orange, lilac, mint green and purple in all the collection was simply outstanding.

Snapshots from the A/W 10 MiuMiu runway show

And now thanks to AnOther we have a film to prove the magnificent collection, and to start preparing us for this season of cold winds and breath taking clothes.

You might recognize some of the places shown on this film because according to statements given by Dazed Productions, "This film was Shot in the hidden rooms and labyrinthine corridors of 34, Avenue Foch, the Miu Miu showspace." We don't think it gets cooler than that, it's like a backstage to heaven.

Styled by Olivier Rizzo, starring Lindsey Wixson and Mariacarla Boscono, with hair by Guido Palau and make up by Pat McGrath.

On this film Vanderperre is clearly influenced by those dark and scary flicks from the past, the constant change from colour to B&W, the disruptive signal and the general confusion atmosphere makes it all look so much more grim. The music used on the video is definitely a bit strange and frightening which only added to the already austere scene. Vanderperre says: "I wanted to reflect a kind of haunting, a feeling of unease in the room, and strange attraction.", and he definitely acomplished it.

So anyway we hope you enjoy this mini film as much as we did, and leave your own reviews about on on the comment sections. You can comment even if you're not a part of Blogspot, so don't be afraid and drop us a line.

Top 5 reasons why we love Taylor Momsen

Taylor Momsen is a 16 year old dirty rocker from new york city, mostly known as Jenny Humphrey on the hit tv show "Gossip Girl", but I bet you already know all of this.

She has officialy become one of the people NONPLUS has not an eye, but a whole comission of eyes on her. From episode one of GG we noticed that dark side on her we knew she wasn't your average NYC chick, we could see that evil glare on her eyes, and we weren't mistaken. Shortly after, she changed her hair, clothes, eye make up and gave us that rebelious side we were so eager to see, after all not everything could be sparkly and shiny on the upper east side, right?

She's already making lots of headlines for her attitude, fashion sense and above it all the always expected rumours, including anorexia and trips to the hospital, the girl has it all to make it work.

She embodies so much that we can feel related to, so that's why we want to give you the top 5 reasons why we love Taylor Momsen, which probably could become your top 5 reasons why you love her (or hate her).

1. STYLE & FASHION SENSE

This is no secret to anybody that dares to say they have an eye for fashion, the girl has STYLE and an attitude that fits it. (very different from most 16 year olds js) She's the tastiest, crazy, dark, post grunge and trash amazingness piece of rock pie. She can put on a school sweater and a pair of heels and she'll fucking make it work. Her hair is messy and flawless, her red lips are lucious and remarkable and last but not least those racoon eyes look magnificent on her. She's probably one of the few that can pull that off without looking like puke, and she proved it on this spread for Elle girl japan.

2. SHE'S AN ACTRESS

And I'm not talking Miley Cyrus on "The Last Song" (which was completely ridiculous), I'm talking convincing acting. Tell me you don't believe the character of Jenny Humphrey and I'll smack you on the face, haha. She's an awesome actress with a lot of acting baggage behind her, and we bet she'll continue to do so. She was on the Grinch for god's sake, she can do anything.

How cute!!!!?!?!

3. KNOWS FASHION

And I'm not talking UO or anything like that (not that there's something wrong with it), she has mentioned in various interviews how much she loves brands like Chanel, Dior, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Asos, Alexander McQueen (rip) and Alexander Wang, who knew?!

Here we see her sporting some of these brands while walking on the streets of nyc:

Style dream

4. HAS A BAND

The Pretty Reckless is not your average teen band. No little girl stupidity, she's aiming for a post-grunge, very rockish, vibe on this one. Her inspirations have been said to be Nirvana, Hole, and joan Jett, how cool is that? It doesn't get any better than this. They are signed to Interscope records and their debut album is expected for summer of 2010 (So soon, I know, we can't wait!!!). On february a free download of their debut single "Make me want to die" sponsored by Seventeen magazine was released, and it caused major internet air line, we can only say that when we wanted to download our free copy the system was overloaded.

Listen to the single we're talking about, "Make me want to die":

5. ATTITUDE

Last but not least we MUST mention, her attitude towards life.
On an interview she said that she thinks that people really don't take her too seriously, because she's 16. "They think that when you're 16 you don't know what you want to do with your life, but truth be told I do, because I've known it since I was 2".

Also on the same interview she stated her thoughts about fame, saying that frankly fame is meaningless. And she's right as long as you're doing what you want and love, you shouldn't care about what people think of you or all the pictures they take off you.

To finish it up she is an avid believer of the: "Do what you want and not give a fuck" phylosophy that we just adore.

Posing for Nylon Mag

Recently she recieved bad publicity over some comments she said about Haiti and how she was too busy to actualy help. Some people started to hate on her calling her "heartless" and "mean".

Well to be completely honest, we admire her for her honesty, instead of being like those suck up celebrities that lie through their teeth about helping, honesty is so underated nowadays.

Anyways love her or hate her. She's making her dreams come true, not caring about people's opinions and that's to be admired. And on her own words: "I know what I want.", and we as hell know we want her to succeed.

\m/ ROCK ON TAYLOR \m/

Something bigger, Something better, Something blank

So we recently went to the movies to see "Date Night" (I know I know, we're late leave us alone), a movie starring Tina Fey and Steve Carell two of the funniest people on entertainment. The movie had a variety of music, from The Ramones Blitzkrieg pop to Elephant's Spiral System, the missing realease of a soundtrack of this movie was heartbreaking because the songs used on the movie were very enjoyable.

Fortunately for our music library, we're determined researcher of songs we want to have. In this case there was this song we really wanted to get not only for us but for you to listen to, it was featured on a specialy funny scene of the movie where Tina Fey and Steve Carell go into a sexy parlor (let's keep it PG-13), it had a pussycat doll-esque beat with signature peaches vocals. So we went on google to find this mysterious yet sensual song just to realize it was from an already known artist, her name: Amanda Blank.

We first layed our eyes on this (practicaly) debutant to the music industry in a collaboration with Yuksek for the song Extraball, if you haven't listened to it press play and enjoy:

But this was nothing to be compared to the hollow, hard, shallow, cold, shiny piece of plastic the song "something bigger, something better" was.

The lyrics are an ode to all sexy, independent women/people in general who are not afraid to show their stuff, be a complete flirt and above it all that don't give two shits about what people thing of them, like a friend once told me, They see me rolling, they hatin'" haha.

The song starts with:

"My ladies who got their own cash
know how to swing their hips fast
back and forth to the beat
don't sleep girl
show them how you work that ass"

You can't go wrong with something like this.

This song is TRASH, throughout the whole song you don't listen to any real singing, or deep hearted lyrics, but damn when you hear this you instantly feel sexy and besides is not a song to be taken seriously. Also I do appreatiate an actual adult singing about sexy stuff instead of a twat that has barely come out of puberty. Just saying.

But don't believe me, listen for yourself:

Amazing isn't it? Even Elle Magazine had their scoop out of Amanda.
So...you want it? Well NONPLUS has it!
Yesterday was our first month out there on the blogosphere (YAAAAI!!!!) and we have to say we're quite pleased with the buzz it has been creating and it's only getting better!

So as a gift to our avid readers and fans we give you a limited free download of Amanda Blank's-Something Bigger, Something better. (A song that is very difficult to find by the way) So hurry up if you want to get your hands on this badass song.

So thank you for reading and we hope you enjoy our download :)
HAPPY FIRST MONTH♥

Lohan's postmortem spasms

So we all saw the F L O P of Lindsay Lohan and Estrella Archs working for Ungaro for S/S 10 on Paris fashion week. The outcome was categorized as tacky, dated, bright pieces of clown vomit. In the best of cases, there was a single piece I would rescue from the whole collection, but that's beyond the point.

Here's a little reminder of what it looked like:

After this show the media and the fashion critics ate Lohan alive with comments like:

"Hot pink, orange and flashy, with an overworked heart motif relentless in its execution, the collection displayed none of the promised younger side Lohan was supposed to deliver."

and
"Too many of the styling tricks did not come off. It’s all very well covering the odd nipple with sequined hearts."

But the real dagger through the heart came from the founder of this house Emmanuel Ungaro, when he said:

"The collaboration with Lindsay lohan was a dissaster. I'm furious, but there's nothing I can do."

Even the WWD called it "an embarassment" among other things.

After this Lindsay Lohan and Estrella archs were given the pink slip, Mounir Moufarrige (executive director of the company), resigned from his position and Úngaro regreted with all their heart this hot mess.

Many reported that Ungaro was desperately seeking buyers, which they didn't get. That collection was not sold to any of the retailers or department stores on most cases and was very wisely put on the list of mistakes for the Ungaro house.

But is Lohan off the fashion world after Ungaro?
The answer is NO, Soon after ungaro she founded 6126 (which refers to marilyn monroe birthday 6.1.26) a label exclusively made for leggins (which was pretty obvious since she practicaly lives in leggins). They are wearable and trendy, except for the ones that have knee pads (wtf was she thinking?).

But that's not the end of it, for fall she's expanding the brand to mini dresses, footwear, boots, shorts and jackets and she just finished doing the lookbook of it, she's even modeling for it (who knew).

Kristi Kaylor president of 6126 said that the collection is fabric mixing, — leathers mixed with laces- a hard edge with a soft spot.

Take a look at it:

I have one question for Lindsay, Where is marilyn monroe on all of this? Last time I checked Miss Monroe didn't go around wearing leather and bondage boots, probably yo meant Marilyn Manson, right?

This collection is 280 pieces and the prices range from $60 to $1000, which to me is freaking ridiculous, but hey! to each it's own.

Anyway, if you thought that the collection is not half bad (as I did first) because the colours are great and the shapes are pretty (I think the first part of it was very well put together), think again. The promo shoots appeared not too long ago and all we have to say is TACKY, so we feature her on the WTF moment of the month.

Here are the promo shoots for her line:

But we have to give her a break, at least we don't have glittery heart pasties on boobs this time (yaii!), we think this will sell well and our prediction is that Lohan will continue to make headlines, but not exactly for her work on the fashion world.

Thank you for reading this lohan novel haha.
I ask you would you buy any of this?

ps: If you have any comments remember you can comment even if you don't have an account on blogspot.

Hop on the Ditto train

Beth Ditto (Born Mary Beth Patterson) is the singer of the super chic band "Gossip". Mostly known for their breakthrough album "Standing in the way of Control". She's a lesbian, feminist, self proclaimed punk rocker, outspoken, full figure parade of pure madness that's taking the music and fashion industry like a monsoon.

But it doesn't stop there, her line for the UK retailer Evans caused major news and massive jawdropping when a very street style, stylish rocker collection hit the web site. From sequins to leather, from black to white, she goes up, on and about every fashion 101 needs and wishes, she simply bedazzled us.

Take a look at some of the collection:

On the same year, she was featured as cover girl for the premiere of LOVE magazine, celebrating curves, and style.

Her band is making all the headlines and with last years "Music for men" they consolidated themselves as rock and roll deidities of not gods. Give a listen to my personal favourite song from that album and tell me I'm wrong. The song is called "Dimestore Diamonds".

So I ask you, Is there someone on earth cooler than Beth Ditto? I don't think so.
At least NME Magazine didn't think so on 06 when they named her the "Coolest person in Rock", and neither did The Glamour awards on 08 when they named her the "International Artist Of The Year". You can't go wrong with that.

She's everything in only one person, she's blunt, happy, weird, fat and she loves it! And we love her for being herself.

Today we celebrate Beth Ditto and her coolness, so hop on the Ditto train.

Uffie has an ADD

Anna-Catherine Hartley, popularly known as Uffie has released the second single for her Debut album "Sex dreams and Denim Jeans" just today.

She is perhaps best known for the singles released on 05-06 named: "First love", "Hot Chick" and "Pop the Glock", this last one being one of her most succesful ones for the candid lyrics and amazing sound, making the synth-ish talk-y voice her signature mark.(That's right, suck it Ke$ha)

With the release of "ADD SUV" she consolidates as a trendy hot artist, specialy when featuring a huge name in the musical industry as Pharrel Williams is, and let's face it whomever can sport a flockofseagulslike hearstyle and look stylish has my respect. The rythm is simple yet VERY catchy and fresh, totally the kind of beats we love here at NONPLUS.

The lyrics are real and daring, even if they are talking about going out and all that jazz
It all starts with:

Sometimes I wake up in my bed
and I don't know where I've been

Haven't we all wondered that at one point in our lives?
Still is a fun song to dance to/listen to/have fun with, definitely nothing to be taking too seriously, still we classify this song as HIGHLY ADDICTIVE.
But you be the judge! Give it a listen:

The album isn't out until May 31st of 2010 (bummer I know) but meanwhile you can listen to this new single, her prior single "MC's can kiss" from which one of the remixes is currently under free download (HERE), all her other singles or wait for it. (secretly wishing it leaks).

Also for limited time you can follow this link if you want to get a dowload of the radio rip of this song (Thank you to MrNebiExclusive) : http://hulkshare.com/7yk11dnau03q

So enjoy it and thank you for reading!
