The feared MANBAG

The manbag is basically the males version of that amazing accesory women use on the daily, the accesory that allows them to carry around multiple useful gadgets and important things, the accesory women can't live without, the bag.



You would think that a male version of something so useful and cool would be an instant hit, but this was not the case for the manbag. When first introduced it was feared and rejected by most males, because it attempted against their macho man status. Some of the arguments even include "now what? they'll create male skirts?" (Outside western cultures is very common to see a male with a skirt on, so I don't know what this person was talking about)



To be honest, I don't even see the problem on carrying a man bag, it helps you be organized, it's aestheticaly appealing and let's be honest as males we are practical. Instead of carrying out a big ass, ugly portfolio that is not even functional, you could carry a leather handmade messenger bag that not only looks amazing, keeps your hands free, but also works perfectly to organize everything, you can even carry your lunch, jacket, spare tie in it.



I've been constantly asked what kind of bags I recommend for males, since I'm always seen around using a manbag. So I'm doing a top 3 on the best suitable manbag designs and materials, for my male visitors.

THE MESSENGER BAG



The messenger bag is THE ultimate manbag, it keeps your hands free, it's comfortably place between your two shoulders so it evens out the weight, most of them have a lift up lid that helps keeping everything inside the bag. You can easily lift up this lid and have everything at hand.

Most messenger bags have external pockets in which you can put the change, your car keys, even sunglasses and water bottles. So basicaly what you can do with a messenger bag is up to your imagination.



They are customizable and they come in different sizes and materials. I would advice a resistant material like leather, good quality leatherette, denim, corduroy and resistant fabric. Don't buy those ugly plastic/shiny/water resistant bags, those that are shiny and when you touch them you know they're just going to rip appart soon; besides they look like you are fresh out of the gym, and no women likes sweaty dudes.

THE HANDBAG


Now this one is more feared by males, because let's be honest, it kinda does look like a females bag. However is the way you use it that makes the difference, you don't want to carry it on your shoulder take out a mirror and put lipstick on...as an example. You want to carry it like this:



Believe it or not, it will not take manhood points out if you sport one of these bags. You want to keep it in the balanced side, a smaller handbag will look like a clutch in your hands, and a bigger one will make you look like nichole richie.

I suggest black or dark brown leather or leatherette for this kind bags, since these are battle bags (the bags we use for EVERYTHING). If you want to go to the wild side, I would suggest beige, lighter browns and nude colours, I would even suggest getting one big big pockets on the front. But NEVER use bright colours on this one, I would even tell you to abstain from whites, they just don't look that good in my opinion.

THE TOTE BAG


Now I know what you're thinking, that one is definitely for women, and I will not disagree, they were made for women and to carry out groceries, but from personal use, I can tell you they are one of the best inventions ever, and I am not alone on this, lots of designers did male versions for the tote bag, so you can be confident when using one.

They are big, look good, they come on resistant materials. These are hardcore bags that can honestly handle any kind of treatment


Some of these tote bags come with a strap that can be added on and turned into a messenger bag, and also they can be carried out like handbags and still look chic.
There's absolutely no limits to what you can do with this bags.

They are customizable aswell, they have bigger space than messenger bags and handbags, they come on a variety of amazing and different materials, they can be used with any outfit, and you can go wild with the colours on this ones, since they are cheap and can be changed very easily.



I know they are out of style on the most part, BUT you shouldn't fear to use it anyway, we as males love things that are practical and that can stand the test of time, and these bags are the ones to be chosen for that.

In conlcusion these are the kinds of bags you want to look for to look stylish and still keep your manhood points intact. Besides women love men that are organized and that can still look good at it, and males like men that can afford style.

So don't be afraid males of the world! Carry your man bag loud and proud, beacuse damnit fashion is for us aswell.
